“I first experienced pottery in 1967 at the UC Riverside “Pot Shop”. Although we mainly worked with wheel thrown forms and cone 10 reduction firing, we experimented with RAKU. Night firings were dramatic and exciting.

“In 1987 I took ceramic course work from Marlene Tatsuno in Bakersfield, California, where I learned about large forms, glazes and pit firing.

“In 2010 I took ceramic courses from Keith Moses, and have learned more about wheel thrown forms, slab forms, salt firing and more RAKU.

“I am currently creating a home workshop in my barn in Corvallis, Oregon. I have new benches for building slab forms and am in the process of building a RAKU kiln and have completed my first home-grown barrel/pit firing.”
